In my practice I meet all kinds of people from many
walks of life and very different backgrounds. I work with them on the energetic level to facilitate their healing, so that
they may find their healed selves and walk with joy. What amazes me is that, so often, the core challenge that people face
is the same. There is an epidemic of people in this world who have gone through life without love.
Mothers, husbands, children, siblings, all relations, having spent years,
lives together, co-creating a relationship that is built upon a shaky foundation. We wonder why families have difficulties
getting along to the point it has become a societal joke. Let's remember that families used to live in generational houses
and spent their entire lives together, not only getting together on the holidays. We also know that half of all marriages
in the U.S. end in divorce. The question must be asked, why do many people feel a disconnect? Certainly parents love their
children and spouses love each other, but how strong of a love and bond can it be if the source of this loving energy does
not love him or herself?
People compromise
in life, it is a fact of living in this realm. We make deals and we settle, whether at work or at home. You may recoil at
the sound of this but everyday we make choices and decisions we may not be 100% behind. This is a choice and it is alright
as long as it is made consciously with the realization of what we are doing. Where we can never, ever compromise is the love
we have and feel for ourselves. This love does not come from an ego position but rather from a spiritual one.
In the Bible, Galatians 15, we are instructed, "You shall
love your neighbor as yourself." It is almost too simple to comprehend that before we can truly love others, we must
truly love ourselves. It is a simple request, a difficult proposition and a life changing endeavor.
So, love your families and friends with all your heart but make sure your
love emanates from a heart that is bursting with the intense and powerful energy of self love. Yoga, meditation, healings,
and other modalities can all assist you in reconnecting with your true love of self so that you can then truly connect
with your true love of others.
